Why is it so impossible to write a decent show? I have about 15 I could give them right now that would be infinitely better than this. I couldn't make it past the first episode because the whole premise is absurd and boring. Are we really writing a show about selling a house? I love looking at Los Feliz houses on Zillow as much as the next person but making a show out of it is ludicrous. I read a review that said it got really good by episode 7 but I'd rather watch paint dry than watch anymore of this boring, vacuous show.

The acting is great and I loved the vibe of the movie but why did they make Glen Close look so awful? I'm scared I'll have nightmares seeing her in the cut out jeans, and her awful fake bald head. She was a terrible choice for this role and I can only assume this is some kind of humiliation ritual.

Reading the comments makes me more interested in hearing the personal impact stories from the people who lived through it. I get so bummed when a series starts off good but falls off by the 3rd episode. Maybe someone will make a documentary and talk to the detectives, the families and the girls themselves. that would be way more interesting than this.

I am not sure what I am missing, because I've had 3 people in my life tell me to watch this because it's so funny and I had never seen his standup before. So I watched baby J for as long as I could stand it, about 15 minutes, and then I checked out an older standup , Kid gorgeous from 2018, and I have yet to even cracked a smile. It's something in the way he deliver his stories that come off as redundant, disingenuous, boring, cliche and completely unoriginal and unimaginative.

Wow, this show is awful and the reason it's so awful is that the writing is TERRIBLE which is ironic considering this is a show about academia and WRITING! It even appears the actors feel the same way because when delivering these ridiculous lines you can almost see them smirking. What a waste of time and money and talent.

If this show is supposed to make you feel sick at your stomach, depressed, and like you're going to vomit non-stop if you watch another second of it, then they have succeeded. Between the cinematography, story line, music and acting, they have found a way to instantly illicit the kind of physical responses normally only inflicted by near death experiences, food poisoning, relationship breakups and severe depression. EDIT: I decided to give it another chance and I am pleased to say that after getting through the first episode it definitely got more interesting and I love John Turturro and Patricia Arquette so I am anxious to see them and see where it goes.

I decided to watch this after reading so many good reviews and I am pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable this show is. It is infinitely better than 1923; it has characters that you are able to get to know, with dialogue that is believable even if the story line is kinda crazy. You gladly suspend your disbelief because you enjoy the characters so much.

The scenes with the nuns are so unsettling. I am barely through the second episode and am so disgusted and disturbed. I cannot find any redeeming qualities to make me want to sit through anymore of this sadomasochist nonsense. I thought the first episode was graphic until episode 2 where it gets even worse. As a woman with full blooded Native American ancestors, I find this portrayal of this young native girl to be outrageous and completely unnecessary to the story. I loved the strong women in the other series but the women in this series so far are written as caricatures. There are so many great actors and actresses in this show that I hope they get some better writers and more interesting and realistic stories. There was nothing entertaining about this show, just a cringe fest mixed in with the cattle and horses owned by the show creator.

I really wanted to like this. And all the actors are great, it's just the writing and story line are terrible. There are so many opportunities for comic gold and opportunities for funny smart dialogue and yet, there is NONE of that. The acting from each character is superb considering how little they really had to work with. I am actually interested in these characters but sadly each scene leaves me feeling confused, disappointed and bored!

I was able to suspend my disbelief for the obvious impossibility of her surviving out there and for the fact that she always looked amazing and had a ton of clean LL Bean outfits and I really appreciated the directing and the pace of the story. I also cried a bunch, it was incredibly moving. There were so many things that were really good about this movie. But at the very end when she is at the guys bedside where he tells her he was driving the car that killed his wife and child and of all the times in this movie where she stayed silent and yet at this most important scene, she burdens him not only with her pain of the loss of her family but also mentions that they died by random violence, which makes him cry!!!!After watching her character arch it would have been so much more satisfying if she had LEARNED to stay quiet in the service of another, especially on his death bed.
