Well, what can I say about a three hour 20 minute movie or more, but let me explain it this way, the couple several seats away from me snored for three hours. Thank God they brought a blanket! I guess their bed at home is not comfortable. Cinemark is better, well good for them.
So this movie literally has the same pace as the Conestoga wagons as they headed west, across the open plains to arrive in Oklahoma! Every scene seemed tiring, sleepy slow paced, I felt I was one of the lazy Cow pokes hanging around town with nothing better to do but cause trouble and look for an easy way to make a quick buck! It is a very sad story, but the length of the movie pretty much makes me lose interest in the whole scenario! The plight of these Native Americans is very disturbing, but they seem to give up too easily, and the story feels pushed and not natural. If I were you, I would wait for this movie on Roku, find a very comfortable couch and begin the journey, if you fall asleep well, you can wake up and start the movie again. Some decent acting but the story seems full of many many holes (no pun intended in regards to oil wells dug)that don’t really add up or make sense. The one brother seems to get washed away in the plot just like the dirt is washed away in the downpours on the grassy plains. For all the hype and publicity, all I can say is a very tedious, tiring movie to watch. Good luck, grab a blanket and a pillow and begin your snooze fest! With all that said, if you wake up long enough to think about it, the story is compelling. Just cut about an hour, tighten up the pace; cut out redundant scenes and perhaps the movie will draw you ln!
