Watching the portrayal of prostate cancer in 80 year old Saul was shocking. I cannot believe the opportunity to inform viewers regarding this common diagnosis consistent with 2020 practice patterns was completely lost. To suggest that any urologist unilaterally would suggest surgery in an 80 year old reflects the practice pattern of 20-25 years ago. Did the writers review the American Cancer Society web page, any of the 1/2 dozen legitimate prostate cancer sites, or major medical centers? You missed the opportunity to discuss the diagnosis, prognostic indicators, and various treatment strategies, the most common of which in his age group is watchful waiting. Shame on the writers for this season. Very disappointing.
