It was a very powerful movie, using pictures to convay the utter horror of the holocaust. The first hour was superb, and really lived up to the reality of WWII, as did the whole movie. However, the middle part of the film sort of drifted off the war side of the plot and onto the main characters personal journey, when the war side was sort of the center peice of the entire movie before it, and left me lost and still getting over the first part that so beautifully encapsulated the holocaust, and although entertaining, and I understand they were trying to show how the trauma of the holocaust can effect individual people rather than people as a whole, but they really just left us on a cliff of what happened in the rest of the war and just all the sudden switched to a different plot
The last ten minutes or so with the SS captain gave me a false sense that it was leading up to somthing significant, however, to my grave disappointment, it just had an epilogue saying that everyone dies. I was left distrust and confused to what happens and similar to the switch to the second part of the film, the just stopped halfway through the story and even worse, the film ended. So over all this film was very good, but it really did not live up to it's incredible potential, and left me on a very distruat confused note (no pun intended). I would have really like to see the endings of theseindevidual plots within the film and over all I give it a
