One, I love movies about writers because I hope to become one. Two, I love stories about New York writers because I would love to live there someday. Three, I am from a dysfunctional family. Add that all together and you will understand why I love this movie. I found the story engaging, characters interesting and likable. This is not a movie for everyone, especially in today's racially driven society, because most of the characters are white, even though the story takes place in the melting pot of America, New York. Today, people would dismiss this as a white person's movie or would discount it as a movie about white people's problems and white privilege. Dare to put aside your prejudice hidden behind the cloak and hypocrisy of social justice and watch this movie. I think you will find a warm story that will make you feel good.

Good social commentary about how people don't help others and how people victimize others. Good and suspenseful, with a graphic yet satisfying end.

I loved this show! Maron's interactions with others bordered on the insane because he was always so assertive, even when he didn't have to be. I liked that he began to see that he was a part of his problems and also the solution to his problems.

A writer's movie. No one else would get it.

I liked the romantic chemistry between Toni Gonzaga and Coco Martin, along with the direction of Antoinette Jadaone who didn't let the movie get away and become a silly farce, perhaps because she also wrote the screenplay. Viewers were treated to a warm, uncontrived, smart romcom where the male and female leads were strong, no sexual politics, which ruined American rom coms. Just old fashioned boy meets girls, they fall in love without knowing, pass the test of their love, then give in to love because love is strong and love rules all. There are English subtitles, as the film is in tagalog, but it is an enjoyable movie to watch.

You will like this movie because of the characterization. Well written and acted,The TV Set tells the story of a writer faced with the choice to compromise his vision for money or stay true to his art.
