Very poor. Curtis has been getting away with writing lazy dialogue for years. Acting solid although these are not great comedy performances by any means.
Some attempt is made by the script to explore the virtues and pitfalls of fame, its at these moments the drama is at its most powerful; one wonders if this had been written as a serious drama what might have been? Instead we are left with a very laboured comedy and a ‘painting by numbers’ love story.
The stars of the film are the songs. Long Live The Beatles.
