I was pleasantly surprised by this remake. I was driving to the cinema with my family, and whilst I was waiting to arrive there, I checked the ratings and such. The ratings seemed mediocre, which worried me. But, upon watching it, I was very pleased with the film. It isn't even a remake; it's a reimagining. A good one at that. I thought from the start that the use of modern day technology and poor AI influencing the Buddi to turn evil was such a great concept, and whereas it may not have been executed perfectly, it was certainly done quite well. The SGI in some parts is a little cheesy, but they only use SGI a handful of times. Also, some things that happen in the movie seem unrealistic stupid, such as when the mother of Andy tells him to meet up with kids outside at night time to try and make friends. I think it's fair to say that nobody would let their kid do that. However, I'm just nitpicking. Overall, I would heavily recommend this classic slasher remake. It brings new ideas to the table and executes them quite well, no pun intended.
