The game is infuriating. Having put more than enough time into Psychonauts, I am deeply disappointed by its sequel. The character development is pitiful. I have not found a single “new” character that has anything to offer accept smitten remarks and shallow personalities. The “fever dream” nature of the game is an initial enjoyment until you realize the nature of the plot is an excuse not to write a comprehensible storyline. Levitation is more than useless, and makes the game deeply frustrating. The mechanic makes platforming finicky and adds no jump height. Of course I am happy double fine released a sequel. I’m just not happy it’s this one.
