Pros -
~ Some episodes are quite scary and the tension is pretty efficient at pulling you into the scene.
~ The decision to kill off fairly main characters at any point does leave you uneasy as you never know when a new threat could kill off a character you may have come to like, and this inturn adds to the suspension.
Cons -
~ Annoying Korean which lacks subtitles so through many scenes you're left to simply guess what is being said by the actress whose acting was fine up until the last episode, until it collapsed into a manic, nonsensical and simply weird interpretation of fear and adrenaline.
~ The ending was just terrible, I'm actually quite a fan of the Z-Nation style of zombie dramas as they don't take themselves too seriously and are just a bit scary at times and amusing, however the ending to this series genuinely made me just angry as it seemed I had just wasted my time watching a series which genuinely resolved exactly as you first could of guessed from the first episode. The seemingly 2 main characters made it and she found her daughter, I found myself hoping the daughter running towards her would turn into a zombie as the reality she wants to be true evaporates into true reality and her running daughter turns into a mouth-watering zombie. This didn't happen and it left me very disappointed.
~ Rose (the blonde) was also far too savage to be realistic, and instead of pulling me into the moment as she killed more and more and making me sympathise with the tension she is under, it instead pulled me away and made me question if in a legitimate zombified-world someone could go from being a normal woman to a murderous one within a matter of a few days.
~ Some details and continuity within the series was also given no attention, not only were the extras within the last episode pretty bad at trying to be zombies, but even when "Spears" through away his jammed rifle, within a second he had a new one and seeing as later on people were fighting over weapons, I doubt someone just handed it to him as soon as he left screen.
~ The story-line had quite a few flaws and was at times difficult to follow, even aspects which would seem vital to be consistent sometimes weren't as when at times people were killed without being shot in the head, they stayed dead, or at least it wasn't made apparent that their head had been damaged, whereas within other times the head would seem damaged but the zombie would remain. Not a major issue but still something that pulled me out of the tension which this series is entirely based around as if it didn't scare you, the story would most certainly not satisfy you.
Overall I enjoyed some episodes a lot more than others and although at first I thought the time skipping forward and back was clunky and didn't work, I did actually like it as we learned more and it became more apparent as to what was happening.
6.5/10
Not bad up until the final episode for me, which was poorly done, and left me with a sour taste.
