Honestly a very average Animal Crossing. Not really as bad as City Folk (City Folk isn't a bad game either) and I got a lot of time out of it, but it feels more like a sequel to Happy Home Designer than to New Leaf. I find the villager dialogue in this one to be so bland. They're too cheery and nice, and they really only say like 3 things. You have to constantly speak to them to get a new piece of dialogue, or they get annoyed and start thinking. I am tired of my villagers recognizing some random person who came to my island to give me a piece of furniture rather than recognizing me or themselves. I don't think meaness adds personality. But rather them speaking their minds on what they think. There's not too much of a goal either. Sure you can save bells to pay off your home, but what's the point when people offer you MILLIONS of bells just for a villager who will say the same thing as any other of their personality. Same goes for bridges and inclines. The only goal you really have is to decorate your island which is fun! But after you decorate it, most people would just resort to talking to the villagers and checking in on them everyday (Like the first 3 games). New Leaf had a mix of world building AND relationship building. It felt like the perfect Animal Crossing. Dialogue could be bland from time to time but for the most part I found the dialogue in New Leaf to be interesting and comedic. But the best part of New Leaf is that the villagers didn't spout the same stuff every time I talked to them. I could go to one cranky in New Horizons and he would tell me his muscles ache, and then my other cranky would say the same thing LITERALLY right after I spoke to my last cranky. In New Leaf I rarely seen this. I still had my fun with New Horizons though. I loved that we are able to decorate our islands a lot more but I do not like how we have full control over the land. It just feels weird with all that power. Overall, I feel satisfied with the time I had with the game, but disappointed that we have to wait for a new installment and hope for the best.
