Loved this period drama on a subject matter which was gripping but also repulsive. Episode 1 was not as good but set the scene for this gripping drama as 2, 3, 4 really compelling. The harsh reality of whaling a very dangerous occupation. The scene of seal slaughter are hard to watch, I did fast forward through that once I got the idea but well done to the producers for not shying away from what to us will seem barbaric. All the main actors acted well good to see Graham in this. Farrell and O'Connell excellent. 4 stars due to the closing scenes, an ending which was not as strong as it could of been imo.

I liked this show at first but now I watch to see if any body really does get a good outcome. One or to marginally make a worthy amount of money to call a profit. I agree with all of the one star comments plus know wonder some competitors walk off the programme when they realise their mission is doomed. Come on chanel 4 you can do better than this. Make it fairer and then it will be more enjoyable to watch. Otherwise just can it.
