For me, the female empowerment was too much, where were all the female stormtroopers hiding all this time? The lesbian kiss was not necessary and felt like it was there to make a point and was not any actually a part of the story. There were too many inconsistencies and "where did that come from" moments (i.e. The surprise return of Palpatine and a wrecked death star that was previously completely destroyed in return of the jedi) with the story and I left the theater confused and heartbroken rather than satisfied. A part of me wishes a billionaire fan can buy the rights from Disney and redo the last 3 movies over again.
