My Girlfriend’s Journal is not your traditional book. It is essentially a journal where the protagonist jots down all thoughts which take place in her mind. She is your typical 18-year-old who has a tough time in her life with studies and other stuff but finds solace in worshipping god. Being a very devoted Christian, she truly believes her Appa (Jesus) can solve her problems and give her peace of mind. She finds a boy who she has known for some time too feeling the same way as her about Jesus.
Initially, I got fed up with the number of times she kept praising God, because of which I thought this book would bore me out. It seemed like a religious bible companion book rather than a novel. But later on, I realized something. Each person is different in the way they think, behave, act, etc. After I realized this, the book became interesting, and frankly, to say, I loved it.
So I urge you to give this book a try, and I am sure you will feel the same way as me.
