If you're looking for a sequel that's as good as To All the Boys I've Loved Before, I'm afraid to break it to you - To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You doesn't live up to the excitement you might have before watching it.
** SPOILERS AHEAD ** While it's still a great film, for a good first chunk of the film you might feel like nothing's happening. What once was a super cute relationship that grew between Lara Jean and Peter in the first movie now feels awkward and lacking of chemistry, to the point that you'd think Peter had lost nearly all his cute and romantic qualities from the first film. John Ambrose was a nice character but it would have been nice to see him have some more dimension to him, rather being someone who's only role was to come between Lara Jean and Peter. Some scenes had some awkward acting but most importantly, it felt like it was missing the magic from the first movie.
There were some good moments too, like the plot twist with the Peter and Gen scenario, the soundtrack and all of Lara Jean's outfits were super cute. Despite (in my opinion) a lackluster film, she still remained a female lead you wanted to root for.
** SPOILERS OVER ** If you want to enjoy this movie then have low expectations before watching it and don't be surprised if it feels a little slow. You might end up enjoying it and there's no harm in watching a still cute and wholesome movie.
