Steve Wyatt – Google

Excellent and engrossing show about the strange beings that haunt us in tales for centuries. The genius of this series lies in telling the stories of beings of horror (Vampires, Werewolves, and many other imaginary beings) from both the perspectives of humans these beings of horror. At some point you can’t tell much difference between the monsters and ordinary humans; both groups commit grotesque acts of violence and wonderful acts of kindness. At times you feel compelled to root for the monsters and other times for the ordinary humans. But eventually you realize that the monsters can be anyone. Add a complex and evolving story with great plot and character development along with acting that works on all levels results in a terrific series with the greatness of the “long novels” of the 19th century.

I first saw this movie before it was released in a special screening in Dallas. At that time both Warren Beatty and Fay Dunaway were at this screening as they were currently filming the classic “Bonnie and Clyde” in the north Texas region. My cousin was with me and asked me to get their autographs as she was too scared to do so. I did and approached them with a laugh saying I’m not sure who you are but my cousin does and would love and appreciate your autographs. I thanked them as said they were fun to talk with, and wished them great success in their film careers. More than 50 years latter I can remember this movie on so many levels. I believe this may be the best acting performance in Steve McQueen’s career. If you have never seen this gem, be prepared to see a story filmed in a deep drama style were action is scarce, but character development is paramount.
