I think they've done an admirable job in translating the text heavy books into something thoroughly enjoyable to watch. I love the books, but I can see the rationale necessary to paring 14,000 pages to 8 eight episode seasons. Short cuts thus far have made sense and additions to understand motives, since television doesn't allow us into character heads all have totally worked for me.
