If you love the book, this is a disappointment. The scene between Betsy and the Murstones is a climax of the book. Where was it? The psychological tensions concerning Heep/mother, Steerforth/mother. Avoided. So much is wrong and so much misses what Dickens was getting at. If Amando uses the book as a platform to emphasise something else, fair enough, but what is it? I do not believe he read it. BUT entertaining. Great acting although not one single actor was able to develop his/her character. I loved best Agnes. (Love her in the book.) Poor illustrations of mid 19th century London. A few people sleeping in doorways does not make the point of how awful life was in the 1840s for the masses of dispossessed people. Amando, I know you can do a lot better than this. A waste of considerable resources. Dev can do better than just look cute.
