If you played the old Cossacks series and enjoyed it, this is for you. Cossacks 3 is essentially a mild remake of those games (Art of War, European Wars, Back to War, etc.). Graphics are updated a bit and supposedly the AI is better but Cossacks 3 is essentially a refresh of the original Cossacks. I'm about 1 hour into my first campaign and so far almost everything is familiar. Downsides: 18th-century warships and coastal defense cannons from Back to War are missing. Although I'm mostly just happy to have a version of Cossacks that plays on Windows 10, the developers could have added a few new units, such as the forts available in Cossacks 2. They didn't. For that reason, and the missing units, I give 4 stars. If you liked the original Cossacks and want a mildly updated version that runs on newer operating systems, Cossacks 3 will not disappoint.
