It's a failure, it's film making by numbers. It lacks believability, a fully imagined world and is just plain boring. I know there's a lot of hype around it, a lot of willing it to be a great film but it just doesn't get there at all. Basically a sitcom or filmed romance novel and as boring and predictable as that suggests. Implausible and contrived story line and unconvincing character development. A lot of the rather unattractive subtext is about appealing to the vanity of the female audience and wanting to have two men pining for you and then picking and choosing what you want from them. Most of the audience at the Sydney Film Festival seemed to like it but that only shows how most people prefer comforting and unchallenging viewing.

Perfectly convincing, while obviously somewhat heightened it's a very believable and engaging portrayal of the falsity of the whole Iraq war project.

So much lame ham acting. The direction is so loose and sagging. This could have been a great movie but it's weak and indulgent.

The script is wooden and awful, it seems like a script Christopher Moltisanti would have written. Terence Stamp plays his part like an actor imitating other actors playing gangsters. Wholly unconvincing.

Lame, contrived and psychologically implausible. Directed in a painting by numbers style.
