A film that breaks new ground. Part allegorical, part science fiction and hugely entertaining. An excellent cast that does justice to a story that brings a new perspective to an old story about the gold rush in mid 19th century America. Old fashioned greed coupled with remorseless murders and a complete lack of law and order makes for a stimulating view of an emergent nation on the cusp of a period before the war that would galvanise them into a semblence of maturity.

Not one of Liam Neeson's finest. Poor script, weak characterisations and direction. Didn't hold together as compared to say 'Taken'. It showed how little can be achieved in a similar time frame.
