Some good & bad points about From… The good: * Fresh & creative premise * Genuinely creepy baddies * Lots of mystery & intrigue * Doesn’t hold back on the scares or how dark it often gets The bad: * Acting isn’t great. Child actor is truly awful * Many throw-away episodes where nothing actually happens * Sometimes a character has a great idea but then doesn’t do anything about it, or they’ll find out an important piece of information but keep it a secret from everyone. There is never any reason for this - which just feels like poor writing * S1 was great, S2 was ok, S3 was poor. I would totally be ok if S4 got cancelled

Great acting & well directed. The siblings were relatable as rational people in a strange situation. The fear felt very real. There were a couple of jump scares but it relied more on being creepy & building dread. My only criticism would be the unimaginative ending

Characters & acting was good but it’s just so slow. Over an hour & nothing seems to happen. I think they were trying to move away from cheap jump scares & focus on something atmospheric & genuinely creepy - which I am all for! But it doesn’t do a very good job. A couple of bits were eerie. There’s 1 single gruesome part. The rest is a very long build up to a predictable ending. It really is a shame because this could have been so good if done properly.

I was expecting something dark, tense & gritty. Bit of a let down in that respect. But, it was ok! Certainly worth a watch. Just don’t expect something serious

Nothing like the 1st film. Cheap jump scares, poor plot & probably the worst acting I have ever seen. It’s making me not want to watch the 3rd film

Swedish low budget depiction of a man coping (badly) after having brutally murdered his wife & severely injuring his son. Very original story & superbly acted by the only main character - But it was a difficult watch. Most of the film I was thinking “where is this going?!” 1hr 17mins felt like a real long time

British ghost horror set in 70’s. Good 70’s feel. Well acted with A-B stars. Good character development. Follows fairly typical haunted house themes. Not the most imaginative ending.

British low budget atmospheric trippy horror. More eerie than horror. Was shot during Covid lockdown in UK. Good characters. Well acted. Has a lovecraft feel

I’m a fan of low budget films & this wasn’t bad. It wasn’t great either, but you kind of expect that. To its credit I had no idea where the plot was taking me. It’s certainly not cliche - apart from the little girl ghosts. Acting was good. A few things didn’t make sense but nothing that ruined the film. Overall worth a watch if you like this sort of thing

I went in knowing the poor reviews, but you can’t always trust poor reviews & the premise was intriguing. It wasn’t terrible but it didn’t stand out as a good film. Also I’m squeamish about eyes & there were a few ‘eye torture’ scenes.
