This game for me is the best rally sim out there and there are multiple reasons for this. 1. The car selection is brilliant as it ranges from classic cars like the Mini to the modern beasts like the Ford Fiesta. 2. The stage locations are equally brilliant as it includes locations which aren't in rally games much like Scotland and the USA which the WRC games don't get. Yes the stages are Codemaster's own work but boy they are a blast. 3, It has the world rallycross championship license which is a superb inclusion and the track selection is spot on as it includes iconic locations that the world rallycross drivers visit such as Hell in Norway and Lydden Hill in England (The birthplace of rallycross and my favourite rallycross track) 4. The setup screen has explanations to help you set up your car to your personal preference (I always favour a stiff setup with a low ride height for superior stability) 5. You will crash a lot as it is hard but that is part of learning to be a rally driver!!! 6. If needs be there are driver aids to help you. I bought the game of the year edition last year for 15 quid and it has proven to be a bargain. If you can get this version of the game that cheap it's well worth it you won't regret it.

Here's some pros and cons about this game. Pros: 1. It does have really good gamepad handling which is fun 2. There is a big selection of tracks 3. There is a big selection of cars 4. The idea for the game is nice in some aspects as it has a Need for Speed Shift feeling to it Cons: 1. Trying to find online servers are a nightmare as there aren't many lobbies even 2 and a half months after launch as when I tried to go in a quick race tonight it could not find anything and there were only 5 custom lobbies which were nowhere near full. Hopefully there will be more online servers. 2. The single player racing is OK but nowhere near the standard of Project Cars 2 as there are nowhere near as many options to customise your race i.e. the duration and the car class options 3. The AI is OK but nothing special 4. Some car classes are too much of a mishmash and this is something that should have been addressed straight after launch I did have high hopes for this game. Whilst there is no denying it is fun in certain areas it hasn't quite hit the mark but I do give Slightly Mad Studios credit for trying something a bit different from the norm and giving us a game which has tried to follow in the footsteps of Need for Speed Shift. That said, I feel like Project Cars 4 needs to have the Project Cars 3 handling combined with the options that Project Cars 2 gave for racing such as pitstops and the developers should revert to the car classes from Project Cars 2. This I feel would be the best way to keep the Project Cars community happy so that the franchise can attract more players again. Overall I'd give the game 6/10.
