5/10 - The family man Jack Ryan was far better than this family man. Srikant, Suchi characters are so flawed and it makes you hate them. Everytime Srikant lies about doing paperwork to his wife/mom, i cringe and hate that character more. This is my first time watching Manoj bajpee and i was disappointed to say the least. No matter what the situation is, his facial expressions remain the same. We have better actors from South. Don't understand the hype around his acting prowess. And Suchi who wants to spend time with kids quits her convenient lecturer job and do some marketing job in a start up for menial pay. Nice hypocrisy there. Don't know if she cheated on Srikanth with Arvind (i think yes). There seems to be no honesty in their marriage and it looks like a love marriage. Every convo revolved around Suchi interrogating Srikanth and srikanth telling stories to cover up his lies. Their kids more spoiled than any thing. Doesn't represent the middle class whatsoever. Srikanth's entire family is a mess and the irony is that this supposedly intelligent NIA agent believes a good house (home loan) will solve everything. Now coming to the main plot, it is quite gripping in the last 4 episodes. But some of them are unbelievable. Like Ordinary NIA guy contacting American agents and stuff like that. The director seems to be struggling to convey his message on terrorists and jihad. If we disregard the family story, I would give this 6/10. Nothing to boast about.
