While it stays true (for the most) to the graphic novel it was based on Red Son leaves out what made the story worth telling...namely the original beginning and a truely creative ending. Without those you're left with a story that just doesnt carry any weight just a lot of conveniently familiar characters who now just happen to be Russian.
