As soon as I saw the first teaser from Kalank, I knew I had to watch it. I finally got around to watching it, and I have a lot to say.
First of all, DON’T believe everything the critics or IMDb say! The movie definitely doesn’t deserve a measly 3.7/10. Give this movie a chance! I thought all of the negative reviews would sway my opinion, but I haven’t been affected by them at all!
Second, the majority of the actors played their roles fabulously, especially Varun Dhawan. He perfectly embodies the mischievous yet charming Zafar. Alia played Roop’s character flawlessly as well. I also really liked Aditya Roy Kapur’s portrayal of Dev. Madhuri’s Behaar Begum was amazing too. Basically of the actors playing the main protagonists were excellent.
Third, the sets, costumes, music, and cinematography were breath-taking. Everything looked so aesthetically pleasing, especially in Ghar More Paredesiya. Though the storyline was a bit choppy, and certain scenes seemed to drag on and on, overall, the plot wasn’t bad.
Because the movie was so long with repetitive scenes and lengthy dialogues, Kalank isn’t a movie I would rewatch. However, I still really enjoyed it. If you’re not into innocent romance and familial drama, then this is NOT the movie for you.
