I have always enjoyed it until last night. I was watching back to back episodes and couldn’t believe what I was seeing. First, in the first episode, one of the stars was returning to his makeshift cabin with no amenities out in the woods, having just shot his dinner and was carrying it with him. As he neared his cabin, the camera for a short second picked up two telephone poles in the background. Really! That was interesting but I let it go (knowing there’s no way you can mistake telephone poles with wires across the top to be anything other than what they are). Then, second episode showed one of the stars canoeing down a river to get some fish for a meal, a river that he made a point of stating was out in the middle of nowhere. And from the film shots it sure looked that way. Until one of the shots actually showed a steel double span bridge over the river farther up from where his canoe was. That shot also was very short and quick. Now I’m pretty convinced the entire series is a sham. You don’t find telephone poles and large metal span bridges in the middle of the outback of Alaska. That was sure a letdown. Why can’t these reality shows be real?
