The people giving this 2+ hour long ode to being a pretentious wanna-be thespian are clearly also art&film students or fanbois/gurls.
I'm not sure how this movie isn't among the worst rated of all time, but it was filled with an absolutely talentless cast ; barry keoghan plays a small (though it feels suuuuper long based on listening to him vomit out his lines) part in the film and it was literally embarassing to watch. It was akin to being forced to sit through your nephew's high school production of shakespeare but one where none of the kids practiced the lines enough to feel comfortable in their role.
Aside from this, the movie is slow and I found it to be honestly boring. The message or moral, if there is any, is terribly ambiguous at best considering the fate of Gawain no matter his choices.
The casting choices as well are a whole other issue in itself - i won't speak to those because they are terribly apparent as soon as you get into the flim. There are quite a few people who clearly do not belong in this setting, but of course hollywood wokeness had to be enforced here, too.
Heavily advise you to skip this one ; all of the 5 star reviews raving about the symbolism and cinematography of the film should be a clear indication to most viewers that this film is not at all for the average viewer. Perhaps there are some cinema buffs out there for whom this really did the job - however i strongly suspect for most of us this will not be the case.
