This gets 5 stars tor being the best bad movie ive seen in some time. To be clear, this movie is awful, but it falls squarely into the so bad its good territory. I laughed my ass off and it isnt a comedy. The acting is horrible, and I actually think Fox is a bit better than people say she is, but not for one second did I buy her as a hardened military operative. To be fair to the actors, the dialogue is absolutely laughable- generic banter and insults among the soldiers to make it seem like theyve been doing this a long time, and tin-eared monologues that are meant to inspire empathy or sadness but only bring laughs. The plot is nonexistent. The motives of the bad guys are as generic as they come and are barely explained. And the lion... the lion is the worst CGI I have ever seen. Its ludicrous to be that bad in a 2020 movie. Jumanji had better effects. And the anti-poaching message, while obviously an admirable message, is shoehorned in. Maybe a D-grade action thriller with a moslty unknown cast that depicts lions as ferocious man eaters with an unending appetite for human flesh isnt the best platform for your message. Its a powerful subject that feels tacked on here. So yes, I recommend watching this-alcohol or weed are a great help-strictly for the laughs. I give it 0/5 and 5/5 simultaneously.
