One of the most influential metal albums of the 1990s. Way ahead of it's time, especially for 1995. There's a lot of progressive metal and thrash influences that are consistent with their previous releases, but with added hints of jazz fusion and ridiculous time signatures as well as some slight hints of metalcore that had yet to be seen. Unfortunately a lot of modern metalcore bands and "djent" bands would go onto re-use and a lot of the riffs on this album until they meant nothing, but Meshuggah aren't to blame for that.
