I realize there are an abundance of glowing five star reviews on here which prompts me to question whether we all saw the same show. Honestly the dialog was often dreary and pointless. The writing, if you compare to say Julian Fellowes, is just not up to standard for a period drama and very facile. The stark difference between the young, delicate and beautiful queen Charlotte and the rather brash and handsome older version was jarring. There really was nothing, except for the fabulous costumes and sets, to recommend this series. I will not get into the race swapping but that is odd and self indulgent for the creator. Some of the scenes were horribly contrived and deliberately crafted to set up a scenario for the next plot run. Not very Not very impressive.

Having seen the first two episodes I am not really into this show. The dark lighting and shadowy scenes are depressing and the emergent story is certainly dark and somewhat uncomfortable to contemplate. I will likely not come back to it. I appreciate the path the writer is taking but I am not willing to go down this rabbit hole.

A great deal of effort went into the setting, costumes and titles but after three episodes, Michael Douglas as Ben Franklin has been disappointing. We have been big fans of Michael and his movie performances but, in this role, we are finding him unconvincing as though he is just going through the motions. A great pity. The storyline takes some huge leaps in time to reach developments in the plot which is sometimes a jolt. Manhunt was far better in terms of the lead characters and execution of the plot.

Only seen two episodes so far but we are enjoying the experience very much. Filmed in similar style to the White Lotus, we thought, with sharp images, colourful scenes and thoughtful dialogue. I am in awe of the editing which must have taken a lot skill with so many cut scenes and memory joggers adding context. The setting on a luxury art deco cruise ship is terrific and we are looking forward to the rest of the story. Please pay no attention to the negative comments, make up your own minds. It is worth your time.

I have always enjoyed watching this movie and have probably seen it 6 times or so. I always choke up when Nancy manages to fly the 747 to a safe altitude to clear the mountains. By today's standards there are some awful cliches and chauvinism - back then only men were pilots and they had to do the courageous stuff. I would love to have seen Nancy take this plane all the way to landing. Still a fun watch for plane fanatics like me.

So disappointing the writers did not try a little harder to avoid the old cliched plot twists and predictable characters. There was obviously a decent budget for this movie but the producers/creators/writers were just content to push out a mediocre product. Similar premise to mission impossible and so many facets borrowed from other action movies. Honestly, I feel they could have used some original thought and imagination. What a waste of good on screen talent.

The writers seemed to go out of their way to suspend disbelief in this series. It was a chore to watch each episode and try and make sense of the confusion. It must have been a nightmare to produce/direct the series. It actually left me feeling cranky with all the veiled hints and twists. Nope.

I read the synopsis before watching and thought it was a bit if a reach. However, I quickly recogned the metaphor and how the small people represented those of us who not only recognize but do something to reduce the effects of climate change/environmental destruction. I was fascinated by the process of 'downsizing' and not at all surprised by the way it all panned out after Matt's character found himself abandoned. I did not get his attraction to the Asian lady but, all in all, the message was clear. We are destroying the planet. Christoph Waltz was excellent as his flamboyant neighbor.

Excellent series and looking forward to the next installment. The characters and gorgeous scenes on the plains are stunning. There are numerous scenes that really tug at the heartstrings and the cast are superb. If I had one wish it would be that Mr. Sheridan did not spend the final two episodes focussing on one character; it was excruciating (trying to avoid spoilers here). I loved the sympathetic way he portrayed the various indigenous characters and made it pretty clear it was the white man and his gun that made life treacherous for everyone on top of the perils found in nature. We binged this show and we're totally absorbed.

Bravo. I only discovered this series by accident and started watching. I found it to be a compelling and well executed show. My hat is off to the makers who did well realising he futuristic concepts and the actors playing robots were convincing in their roles. I think my only peeve was sufranov's air of detachment from his actual life and his parenting could use a little work. He seems to be in a daze half the time and bounces from scene to scene in his beat up American car. He was a respected surgeon but has very much lost his mojo. I feel someone with his background would be more competent and alert.
