Although the acting and the dialogue may not be great, the story and the characters are fantastic.

The best ending to a saga of all time (until Rise of Skywalker ruined it).

It is a pretty good set up for the rest of the sequels, but there is a lot of wasted potential, and you can tell that they don't understand Star Wars completely. It doesn't help that the other two sequel movies were terrible and used almost none of the interesting set ups from this movie.

It's a great movie to just turn your brain off and watch. Its got some great action, touching scenes, and incredible acting. However, as soon as you start to think about things it all falls apart. It destroys a lot of pre-established cannon and relies on meaningless fan service. Although I did not like The Last Jedi either, it tries to "fix" that movie's mistakes by completely changing and undermining J.J's work. The pacing is also terrible. It's no spoiler that Palpatine comes back, as it is revealed in the trailer. I would have been fine with it if it was handled well, it was explained and made sense, and it didn't destroy Anakin's legacy. Well it was barely explained, the explanation we got was terrible, it was handled horribly, and it absolutely destroyed Anakin's legacy. Now I could write a 10 page essay on all of the flaws of this movie, but I'm trying to keep this relatively spoiler-free so I'll end it here. I do not just hate everything Disney puts out Star Wars wise, it is only the sequel trilogy. I love Rogue One, Solo, Clone Wars, Rebels, and The Mandalorian.
