LOVED IT! I was so disappointed finding out that the release had been delayed and thought “man, why not just release for streaming?” But sitting in that theatre last night, now I know why they wanted to wait! I have a few complaints, and spoilers, but overall - WATCH THE MOVIE! It’s definitely in my list of ALL-TIME favorites! Millicent really shined in this sequel, and well, Emily Blunt is Emily Blunt!!! Nobody does the scared but quiet look like her. Watching her in these films always makes me FEEL horrified! SPOILERS BELOW!!! This film was worth the wait and very nicely done! I really appreciate the backstory being included in Part II! It was nice to see the dad again, but it was weird how fast he realized the monsters couldn’t see and were exceptionally sensitive to sound, and then the transition to Part II was so quick! The thing that bothered me the most is that the kids had certainly grown. They looked at least a year older, but it was supposed to pick up exactly where they left off in the first film!! Ummm… think we wouldn’t notice the kids were huge and the little boy looked like a teenager now?! Lol… I was frustrated for at least 20 mins, because I knew he could’ve started Part II at a different point in the aftermath so the age difference wouldn’t be a distraction. Then as they get ready to leave the farm, the girl CUTS the cord off of the amp and takes it with her to use as a weapon. Great, but where did the power come from!? Was it battery operated, if so, why didn’t she replace the batteries since it hasn’t been used in over year as a cordless, or did they not think we’d notice that either? As you can see, these two things bothered me alot, but the storyline, drama, acting, directing, cinematography, was so great it took my mind away from those things to still be one of my absolute favorites!! Those nits will likely bother me forever, because really!? LOL… BUT, it will be part of the nostalgia for me because I truly love these movies!!
