Marvel's Avengers was such a missed opportunity. Crystal Dynamics/Square Enix choosing to focus on an online co-op looter (thinking it would be more profitable), instead of putting their energy into developing a powerful single player story with great villains and gameplay (example: Spiderman PS4), was one of the worst decisions in recent gaming history. Ironically they would've made more money going the Spiderman route.
This game has zero replayability after the short main campaign. Missions are exceptionally boring, and were only fun for the first few hours before realising the repetitive nature of what was to come. It's an understatement to say that the level design and enemy variety are lazy. Unbelievably lazy. Combat was fun for an hour and got tedious rather quick. It got to the point where I'd choose to fly over the whole level to the way point, instead of fighting enemies. Not fun at all.
The looting is genuinely pathetic. There's not enough characters available for me to explain how bad the looting system is.
And don't get me started on the Kate, Hawkeye and Black Panther DLC. They make the main campaign look incredible.
I'll give them a point for Great graphics and another for good voice acting.
If you're a Marvel fan and can find a copy on sale for £15-20 then it might be worth your time. If not then do not waste your time.
