Just one implausible setback situation after another with an equal number of quick fixes to machinery, which in reality are impossible. There are also many scenes where the good guys die or get badly wounded whereas the bad guys seem to live to fight another day and just keep coming. The movie becomes quite predictable about one third in. It’s as if the conclusion was the starting point for the writers and what came before was just incremental ‘fill in’ . Not the best vehicle for Liam Needon’s prior notable famous roles.

The characters are well portrayed with interesting twists on their past lives. The storylines are original and not copies of Star Trek themes taking unpredictable turns as the past is gradually unfolded in bite sized interesting chunks, with each new episode revealing something you didn’t expect. There are interesting inclusions of cloning and enhanced humans as well as quantum theory, expanding a likely future for humanity as well as the reasons for the arc. Unlike Star Trek, earth was not a utopia, it was a place to escape from.

A great first episode with an intriguing storyline, mixed with the usual high and real life backgrounds. Thankfully, this series has returned to the importance of great acting wonderfully filmed. I look forward to the concluding episodes.
