Strike one: The fact that they smoked on a space station proved how stupid movie makers can be . The fact that the space station had a diminishing air supply and they still smoked was so monumentally stupid it damn near ruined the movie for me.
Strike two: The story was intriguing and the actors did their best, though why you have a character audiences can’t understand is beyond me. Oh, how faux diverse we are.
Strike three: Then there’s the dark ambience filmmakers sometimes use to hide wires or to save money on set details. This is maybe the darkest movie I’ve ever seen, and you can’t understand much of the story narrative as a result. Many scenes are meaningless.
Strike four: It’s clear this director is trying to show how artsy fartsy he is with all the camera gimmicks, but he doesn’t resolve any of the plot issues the story brings up. We are left gawking in the middle of the road.
