funny, goofy, film from my childhood, I love it, reminds me of if the show
" 227 " took place in a superhero universe,
you could call it an African-American version of " kickass "
where a superhero shows up in a real world hood, filled with good people
being oppressed by a drug/organized crime ring and starts off funny but as the GOLDLORDS gang keep looking like fools as hero defeats them with ease film starts to become very serious/dark.
I feel the most realistic portrayal
of what it's like to be a superhero trying to keep those you love safe as an angry gang continues to escalate the war between them and the hero with your home, family, and neighborhood caught in the crossfire,
and as he his powers start to drain he is faced with the choice of try to give-up and let the gang kill him in the hope that will appease them and keep from more death and violence or fight with no powers and die for nothing leaving things after everything he did worse or leave his home like a coward and let the gang have their way and whatever happens,
happens. ending is a little bit of a surprise with many unlikely allies
