Retro Guy

I didn't rate this film at all. The film has an overly pretentious plotline, a generic bad guy and one completely unrelated scene after another. Some of the scenes in this film are so ludicrous that, even for an overblown action romp, you simply can not relate to them in any way and your immersion is ruined. The jokes which are funny at first lose their lustre in the second half of the film, especially when comedy cameos are just forgotten about near the end. The acting is top rate admittedly. Statham is his usual serious badass self and Dwayne is, as usual, a mild mannered machine of a man. The female actors in this film lose their relatibility also, one punch knocking out buff men because of wahman powers. With there being one exception which I won't spoil. The bad guys are your typical generic black suits with no dialogue and woefully untrained considering they have modifiers and super suits which, with the exception of one person, seem to do nothing. Its not a terrible film but if immersion is your thing, don't see this film, there's simply no believability in about 90% of the scenes.
