The director makes her connection with the subject quite clear: in one side, her parents were left-leaning liberal democrats part of the movement to end Brazil's military dictatorship from 1964 to 1985.
On the other side, members of the Andrade family, part of Minas Gerais Oligarch elite which founded one of Brazil's greatest construction companies also involved in corruption schemes.
