SPOILERS!!!!!!
The sequel to the hit to the first War (2019) movie felt very different. (I mean, its a different direct so it has to be right?)
Well, firstly lets talk about the story, where we are told about a secret organisation KALI that Kabir (Hrithik's character) needs to builds trust by doing contract killings of all of the people in their way to reach to the top then once reaching the trust, has to do 1 or 2 last things for KALI to take over India. This is a big problem, we are shown the big bad at the beginning, this should of been hinted near the halfway point of near the end, ideally, Kabir works better on his own, in the shadows as we are told, but as the shadows, you are always in the dark, Kabir is never that, he's an explosion of chaos for anyone opposite him, in the first movie, it was him against everyone, but here, you can tell its him for India.
The story could of been different in so many ways:
- Kabir should of been allowed some time off with his adopted daughter, while this is happening India becomes in trouble and no one knows whats happening, all the RAW secret agents have been publicized, with Kabir too. This means KALI goes after him as revenge for the first movie where he stops them. They go after him and his daughter and he runs, but he cant do it forever, so he runs into danger, he only trust one man, who, he was raised in the streets with, he leaves his daughter with him, while this is going on, KALI is going after Kabir's past, his love interest is one of them, Kabir fights to save her but in doing so, her father dies, this means Kabir has failed and captured by KALI. Then his friend comes in to help, in stopping KALI and helping Kabir.
This way, all the back stories can still be told but ideally this is a spy universe, everything needs to be a secret, some things cant be just told, you need to show it now or save it for later.
Either way, the 1st movie was better but overall, this isnt bad, just not to the standards that it could of been with the potential. I wish there was less CGI and more of an mission impossible sort of vibe, but thats bollywood for you.
