I really enjoyed this adaptation. It's very close to the stage production, so if the you are not a fan of musicals, this likely won't be for you. However, if you liked Cats the musical, you will like this movie. It was a lot of fun and absurd in all the right ways. I adore the musical Cats so I wasn't at all disappointed with this. Definitely worth my time and money. I think the critics are just having a pissing contest to write the worse review. Cats is a simple story about a group of street cats that sing songs about themselves and their unique cat-selves to compete to be selected to be reborn. So don't go into this expecting something else.
