Tony chequer chats “Realism in a fake world” James

This was the first religious television series i was introduced to. My late Nan (Geraldine) sat me down at a 7 to quench my thirst to learn about theology. I am a faithful guy. But of non specific religion. Wise word's are well in every language. . My nan used to be close friends with Babs..Robert Powells wife . I had met Robert a number of times over the years. Really good guy.. very kind and affable. Anyway. This series was shot in 1977 in Malta and Morocco over a short period of time. Funded by Lew Grade a prolific enterprise officer on television. The inspiration draws from all 4 gospels.. Offered up a chance for well known and lesser known actors to really flex their muscle. You don't need to be a member of a church group to appreciate the impact on our world that jesus left. Removing theological processes. Jesus was a philosophical orator. The core of his work was love and ability to overcome trouble regardless of how bad it gets. He brought forth the change in the zeitgeist of the day he lived in and turned it up side down. With his crucifixion..he symbolically and literally proved his statements. The soundtrack by Maurice Jarre is excellent.. it adds to the overall quality of the atmosphere. But doesn't take away from the significance of the subject matter. Give it a watch.. It clocks in a 6.5hrs..so I suggest watching over a few days. Love you all

Okay cokey : 1973: the Original it will never be ( nor should it 😉) This film has been crucified by critics and has been a sore spot for dozens. People are almost autistic with needing nostalgia. They hate change. So comparisons aplenty were abound. But as monty python said " a nudge is as good as a wink to a blind bat" .... this film was only going to be as good as people allowed it to be. It could have had a resurrected Max von sydow, and people would still pee themselves saying it was a poor showing. I actually think that the premise of the film , that of a syncing exorcism was a good idea. The introduction of different rituals was a great idea. Hell, the 90 year old Ellen Burstyn put on a decent performance. The kids were amazing in their acting chops. Seriously... a pretty good film...

Well ill be damned ... this was a good film, but very cliche. Recycled lines from the Rocky films . Historical inaccuracies in trying to incorporate real boxing history into the Creed universe.. But the boxing scenes were amazing.

Scottish Christ... and the exile of the bagpipes... Alternative title... No seriously though.. its a good film. The duality of God and the devil being conflicting to each other is masterfully Done. They are one in the same (as we all are at times ) we are often the devil to ourselves as we are Christ like. Its absolutely not cannon. Zero legitimacy to gospels but that's the point. Its refreshing to see a snippet of what happened with the 40 days in the desert. Absolutely not illuminati. or satanic . Good for the curious
