A very moving story that illustrates the courage, dedication and simplicity of nine Trappist monks , looking after communities in a far corner of Algeria. That they met such a tragic end, is a reminder of the current world situation, where religion has been usurped for all the wrong political reasons.

A very moving, sensitive biopic. Worth seeing. It mirrors the baser emotions that take over all human beings, often leading to self destruct mode. Lady Gagas performance is fantastic as the shrewish , ambitious wife. Adam Driver is the perfect gentleman throughout. Paola Gucci was superb as the whining spineless son. I’d advise all my friends to see this movie.

At times a little confusing. Tom Hardy never disappoints. Jonathan Pryce is at his best. Intriguing and unusual.

Just what I needed during stressful, Covid times. Gentle, sensitive, well acted and above all showing normality when the current moment lacks it.

Very powerful acting. Reminiscent of moneyed, dictatorial Moghuls throughput the world today. A great movie for our generation, born in the early ‘40s. Wish it was in colour!
