Thappad! One of the beautiful films ever made on the suffering of a woman! I know many of the critics give negative reviews about this movie and even the screenplay was lil repetitive and slow. But trust me the impact it shows at the end is worth it.
Many people might find this as a feminist film as a slap is not that big deal for a woman and not a reason for divorce. Is it the same as vice-versa??
A woman should forget everything and move on. But believe me for a woman, respect is much more important than the love of her partner.
A married woman, she always has to sacrifice her desires, passion, dream and everything.
Why???
Because it's tradition. Generation by generation it has been tought to all the women that they have to sacrifice everything in order to take care of their family !!
And what they get in return???
Absolutely nothing, not even appreciation!
All most everyone think, it's their duty!
Really??
Is it the only responsibility of a woman to take care of their family.
After giving so much to their families they don't even get the respect they deserve !! They don't find happiness.
That's what this film is all about.
Being a girl I relate to it so much that it made me cry!
Amrita(Tapsee Pannu) has given everything to the family & her husband. She took care of everything perfectly and in return she didn't even receive respect and happiness. Instead she gets slapped without any reason in front of their family and guests.
That's when she decided to go for the divorce. She didn't give a damn about the society, family and all. She did, what she felt right.
Thanks to the film maker, atleast through a film they give the strength to all the married woman who are suffering with some or the other reasons each and everyday!🙏
Every girl should watch this movie once.
