It's a gem between the sea of trash horror movies releasing in big screens lately. Genuinely good story with perfect pacing. It manages to keep the tensions high till the credits roll.

Genuinely good scares backup up by an engaging story. IMO This tops a lot of recent big budget horror titles.

This movie is a rich atmospheric horror. The first two acts were fantastical in building the lovecraftian world and all it's horrors. The grandeur fades a bit in third act. But, the movie is well-made and is enjoyable nevertheless.

Kaitlyn Dever solo-carried the movie with an amazing performance. No words were spoken and judging by her acting, no words were necessary.

Pacing is insanely slow. Though the plot is straight forward and decent, each shot lasts a millennia with little to no dialogue to stretch the runtime to one and half hours.
