It's one of the best adaptions of a novel to movie I've ever seen--if you like Cormac McCarthy's books, you'll love this movie. It also is one of the most illuminating social commentaries regarding the 'war on drugs', and the failure of prohibitions. Javier Bardem's portrayal of the psychopathic hit man is highly nuanced and brilliantly played--he deserved his academy award! Tommy Lee Jones' performance defines the image of a Texas sheriff. It's a movie that endures in the imagine, and raises questions--unanswered--about human nature and the harsh realities of life.
