I've already sent a lengthy and VERY positive review, having loved this film and seen it now 3 times! However, I realized that my praise omitted 2 very important considerations: first, the music, and second, the first-rate cast. The music -- pure, lovely melody, unobtrusive while at the same time, so expressive of the scene at hand, especially when Grandpa goes shopping: delightful! The cast: every single actor was so convincing, not just reciting lines but, with every gesture, every facial expression, every silent pause, conveying meanings often deeper than words. Congratulations to ALL who made this film a true work of art, from beginning to a perfect, and oh-so touching end! Thank you for touching my heart.

This is one of THE most beautiful movies I've ever watched -- so moving and inspiring as we watch how the genuine goodness and kindness of one man elicits those same qualities in those around him. His dedication to the fulfillment of a dream is truly awesome, as is the deep emotion involved in the progress of his disease. True sentiment, without a shred of sentimentality, is the keynote here, making this movie a work of art which reaches deep down to touch the heart! Having taken ballet myself many years ago, I shall never remember it in quite the same way again without thinking of Mr. Sim and Chae-Rok. I will not give the beautiful ending away, except to say that I wished it never had to come to that, as I wanted to stay with this family indefinitely. You will probably be amused to hear that I am currently watching it for a third time!
