I’m a fan of the show and recently I think Tommy Walsh has been a great improvement as a new presenter. Unlike the others he ‘slips in’ various helpful trade tips, like bearing in mind the ‘distance’ and hence piping cost involved in moving an en-suite any distance or making sure you get a good key for a plaster skim coat or it will drop off when the door is slammed etc. He is clearly an expert on house renovation. I’m not sure I would listen to his judgement as closely as a football pundit on Match of the day, at which Dion is excellent and clearly an expert. Dion is a very pleasant guy and brings a touch of humour to the show but what a highly paid footballer knows about DIY leaves me baffled. Horses for courses SURELY?
