Having gone through many reconfigurations in programme length, set design and regular presenters, The Drum has finally landed. Now settled in at 1 hour weekdays, 6.00pm. Creator Julia Baird is joined by the inimitable Ellen Fanning with ABC's gun news utility Kathryn Robinson filling the breach where necessary. A Baird edition will often be strongly themed. Fanning's ability to multi task is something to behold. Her dry wit, deadpan delivery to camera or panelist, unsurpassed in Australian journalism. Robinson's forensic approach to task gets the answers. The go to show for issues of the day.

Love this movie more now than when I saw it as kid on black and white tele. Was it shot on a lot?

Cliched to the max. Moore and Bach own this edition like no other. Peak Bond.

Subtle historical peculiarities.If you want to see an A grade example of Film Noir this is it.

Acutely informative, impeccably connected and a pleasure to watch. The standard- bearer of the genre.

Classic Australian comedy from the ever expanding universe of what I now generically call 'Working Dog'. It's a genre of it's own to me. Instantly recognisable. They'll hate that. Whoever 'they' are. Just so well done.

Went to see this for the subject matter and from what I'd heard and seen expected not to like it. But I did like it. Sure the first 30 minutes could have been cut to 10. Sure there were entire scenes that were unnecessarily repeating the theme. Some of the camera work was not to my taste. But it did move along. The script was good. The acting solid. Baz meets Tarantino.

You get maximum Pfeiffer for your buck. Which is what I was told I would get. Good. Linear, minimalistic, quiet. Stays tenaciously on message. My one word descriptor for the film? Odd.
