I love this show to bits, I watched it three or four times before it was removed from Netflix. It opens up a world of survival and how we as humans treat some species of animals.
We complain when we have an over population of wild rabbits, foxes etc and so we decide to try and kill it. Even though we started it by bringing them into new countries. Imagine if animals decided when there were too many humans in the world and made plans to kill us or bulldoze/blowup/cut down our homes.
People see animals as something below us. But they are not. They have everything we do from a Heart and lungs to love and emotion, Yes they cannot talk or run a country like people but they should be able to live a life without the possibility of being murdered by people or risk going extinct.
Animals came first, then us with our Pollution, global warming, destruction and cruelty. The environment and animals need to be treated better by people. No I'm not a Vegetarian or Vegan but I still believe in animal rights and preventing cruelty to any species, any where.
Watership down is a beautiful series, showing the lives of animals who run from us, showing how territory is decided in the animal kingdom ( yes its blown a little out of proportion) but still truthful being that animals can't just walk into someone else's territory with out a fight.
I loved this show so much I wish it wasn't removed from Netflix or that there was another place to watch it because I loved it so much.
I would recommend this show to anyone who is at least 10+ years old as it would be scarier for anyone younger then that age that doesn't understand whats happening.
