This adaptation felt like a Chinese knockoff of the original animated film. They took everything phenomenal about Mulan and removed it; this includes Mushu, the original songs, and the iconic hair-cutting scene. The plot felt weak, the acting was horrible, and the overall film was a sloppy embarrassment. This wasn’t Mulan but a stripped down shadow of its former glory bundled into a politically acceptable package. This movie did not bring honor to us all. If Disney had any sense of magic left in them, they would make a much needed remake of this remake.
